Our Mission – Excellence in Healthcare for Life

Raleigh Medical Group is dedicated to quality health care. As an independent medical practice utilizing a team approach with professional staff, we strive to provide compassionate, confidential, scientifically-based and cost-effective care to each individual. Our goal is to work in partnership with our patients as they strive to enhance and maintain their quality of life.

Primary Healthcare for Adults

As doctors of internal medicine (“internists”) we focus on adult medicine and are equipped to deal with whatever problem a patient brings -- no matter how common or rare, or how simple or complex. We focus on your healthcare needs. Part of our mission is to partner with our patients, which means listening to you is critical to treatment. In your early twenties is a good time to contact Raleigh Medical Group to locate a primary care physician.

Caring for You for Life

In today's complex medical environment, we as internists take pride in caring for our patients for life. When other medical specialists, such as surgeons or obstetricians, are involved, we coordinate our patient's care and manage difficult medical problems associated with that care.

Internal Medicine with Raleigh Medical Group

Our focus is on adult medicine. The physicians at Raleigh Medical Group have had special study and training focusing on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. At least three of their seven or more years of medical school and postgraduate training are dedicated to learning how to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases that affect adults. Internists are sometimes referred to as the "doctor's doctor," because they are often called upon to act as consultants to other physicians to help solve puzzling diagnostic problems. Each of our physicians have completed a training program at a well recognized medical institution and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

The Definition of an Internist

A doctor who is certified in internal medicine is known as an internist; many adults around the world use internists as their primary care physicians. Internists should not be confused with interns (first-year doctors undergoing supervised post-graduate training). This medical specialty is incredibly varied, because it focuses on the whole body of the patient. Although the name suggests internal organs, internists also treat external conditions. Internists are often used to solve medical puzzles, since they are familiar with a wide range of medical conditions and their causes. Internists are specially trained to solve puzzling diagnostic problems and can handle severe chronic illnesses and situations where several different illnesses may strike at the same time. They also bring to patients an understanding of wellness (disease prevention and the promotion of health), women's health, substance abuse, mental health, as well as effective treatment of common problems of the eyes, ears, skin, nervous system and reproductive organs.

Research

Triangle Medical Research Associates

Raleigh Medical Group has an active clinical trials division with multiple studies currently enrolling. If you are interested in learning more about our current studies visit Triangle Medical Research or call 783-4895.

What is a clinical trial?

A “clinical trial” is a research study to answer specific questions about investigational treatments, or new ways of using known treatments. It is a test to see if the investigational treatment is safe and effective. Strict rules are set by the Food and Drug Administration to ensure patient safety.

Why should I participate?

You can try an investigational treatment before it is widely available. This aids in the development of treatments that may help others.

What are the risks?

Many studies use a placebo (“sugar pill”) meaning some volunteers may be getting no treatment. Potential risks are outlined prior to enrolling in a study and patients are monitored very closely.

What rights do I have if I choose to participate in a trial?

You may leave the study at any time or for any reason, without hindering your right to further treatment. Participation will not affect your ability to get treatment for other conditions.
