Originally from Tacoma, Washington, Jason finds the greatest reward in his work by helping patients overcome financial and administrative barriers to healthcare. He believes that every patient deserves clear communication and guidance throughout their healthcare journey and takes pride in making the billing process more understandable and less intimidating.
Outside of work, Jason is an avid board game enthusiast who enjoys testing new games with friends each week, particularly those created by independent designers through Kickstarter campaigns. He also enjoys online gaming, poker, and exploring new places, making it a goal to discover somewhere new each month and take regular trips to neighboring states.
One destination especially meaningful to him is South Korea, where he enjoys visiting family. Jason shares his home with two cats, Zoey and Neelix, and embraces trying new foods, believing that every cuisine deserves a chance before forming an opinion. Before beginning his healthcare career, Jason served in the United States Air Force and often surprises people by sharing that he is half Korean and half Mexican.
One philosophy that guides both his personal and professional life is to always bring a solution along with a problem whenever possible and to never hesitate to seek out those with greater expertise. He is most proud of learning that a person’s character is defined by their own actions, not by the opinions of others.
