I’m originally from Newton, North Carolina. I chose to specialize in internal medicine and have focused on the geriatric population. I love working with them, and it’s so rewarding to know that I have been able to provide our residents, and their families, with compassionate end-of-life care. I take pride in advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves and helping residents, and their families, understand the healthcare process.
I believe, strongly, in the importance of volunteering. I volunteer through my church (New Hope) at many different places. I’ve also done hurricane relief work through Samaritan’s Purse. My favorite place to volunteer is With Love, From Jesus. They provide food, clothing, household supplies and spiritual care to needy and homeless in the south Raleigh/Garner community.
The Bible is the most influential book I have ever read—it shapes our entire lives. I’m also inspired daily by listening to podcasts by speakers from other churches.
My husband and I have four children, and I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy several hobbies such as sewing, crochet, gardening and games. I love UNC athletics and Hallmark Christmas movies. Many may be surprised to know that I also enjoy video games.
