Dr. Pechter has always been fascinated by the science of the human body. Inspired by her grandfather, who was also a physician, she chose to follow in his footsteps. Born in Belgrade, Serbia, she immigrated to North America at age three and grew up in Toronto. She is proud to practice medicine and serve patients in North Carolina.

One of Dr. Pechter’s most meaningful experiences occurred during her first year in practice, when she received a handwritten letter from a patient thanking her for taking the time to address his struggle with alcohol. He shared that their conversation inspired him to make a life-changing decision and that he had remained sober. She has kept the letter as a reminder of the profound difference a physician can make in a patient’s life.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Pechter enjoys traveling, playing tennis and taking on home-improvement projects. She and her husband, Will, have three children and two labradoodles. On weekends, she most enjoys spending time with her family.
